MALBA (PIX11)-- Police are searching for a suspect connected to the mafia for allegedly shooting a man four times on a Queens shore line, leaving him in critical condition.
Robert Sasso, 33, is being sought after the victim, Dean Oku, 29, confessed to cops the identity of his shooter, according to the NY Post.
The report also says Sasso is the grandson of Robert Sasso, a former union leader who pleaded guilty to racketeering in 1994 and worked with mafia boss John Gotti Sr. doing business deals with developers.
Authorities said the incident in Malba occurred early Friday when both men entered a dispute and ended with Oku receiving gunshots on his chest and thigh.
Sasso, described by police to be at least 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing around 180 pounds, then fled in a white Ford Fusion.
He also has a distinguishable "SMM" tattoo under his right eye and several other inks on his neck.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
