NEW YORK (PIX11) -- A new extreme urban survival skills class is under way in New York City, The Art of the Escape. Students learn how to pick locks, break free from handcuffs and bust zip ties.

For the final day of class, students have to escape a fake kidnapping and navigate through lower Manhattan without resources. "They have people chasing them around the city and they need to make it to the end and do all this stuff under pressure," explains Brian O'Shea, one of the course instructors.

The course lasts for three days. The first session was sold out this week and there's a wait list for the next round.
