(PIX11) -- Hershey's appears to have stepped into a pile of public-relations poop with the release of the chocolate maker's new logo.
The logo features a Hershey's Kiss that some say reminds them of the emoji poop symbol.
More noticeably, the logo features what makers intended to be a streamlined "Kiss," one of Hershey's most popular chocolates.
However, some say the "Kiss" without a wrapper looks remarkably like the smiling poop emoji.
The old logo showed a straightforward "Kiss" fully wrapped in its iconic silver foil.
According to Brand New, the head of Hershey Global Design, Ron Burrage Sr., worked with goDutch and Alexander Design Associates to create the minimalist logo.
The team described the new logo as "a fresh and modern interpretation of the beloved KISSES icon." But as you can see below, not everyone agrees.
The Hershey Company is the largest chocolate manufacturer in North America, producing 80 brands of candy around the world including Reese's cups, Kisses, Jolly Ranchers, Twizzlers. Hershey's has not commented on the fuss over the new logo.
