HONG KONG (PIX11) — Does the “world’s scariest selfie” actually have a deeper meaning?

Video shows three thrill seekers climbing to the top of one of Hong Kong’s tallest buildings, and taking selfies while eating bananas.

But besides being an absolutely outrageous stunt, some say the dangerous selfie is a stand against racism.

After a racist soccer fans threw bananas at Brazilian players in a game against Spain, player Dani Alves picked one up and took a bite, spawning the #WeAreAllMonkeys campaign on twitter.
