STEWART MANOR, Long Island (PIX11) -- On Monday night, residents packed a Town-Village Aircraft Safety and Noise Abatement Committee meeting in Stewart Manor to talk about increased plane noise, and also a plane part found in resident Lee Ackerman's backyard last week.

The FAA confirmed Monday that an instruction panel was dislodged from the inside of a landing gear door of an Airbus A380 aircraft.

Residents want more answers from the FAA.

Ackerman showed us on Friday where he found the piece in his yard.

He attended Monday night's meeting, and showed the committee his photos.

Cristina O'Keefe of Stewart Manor is worried for her children.

She was already on the committee before this latest incident.

This was a meeting that was scheduled before the part was found.

The FAA still investigating.
