NEW YORK (PIX11) -- A Palestinian flag that read "Boycott, Divest, Sanction" was hung from the Manhattan Bridge Wednesday evening.

The flag was seen by pro-Palestine supporters on the neighboring Brooklyn Bridge, who were participating in "March for Palestine!"

Hosted by NYC Solidarity with Palestine, the march worked "to affirm our support for the people of Palestine," as media attention has been turning away from the crisis overseas.

The flag has been taken down. The NYPD, on alert after two white flags were mysteriously placed atop the Brooklyn Bridge in July,  is investigating the incident.

This reminds me of something said by Henry Siegman, former head of the Synagogue Council of America, former National Director of the American Jewish Congress & a former senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. He was responding to Netanyahu’s assertion that Hamas names streets after terrorists, not Israel, and said, “Well, the only difference I can think of is that in Israel they made the heads of the two major pre-state terrorist groups prime ministers.

“So this distinction he’s drawing is simply false; it’s not true. The heads of the two terrorist groups, which […] going back to Benny Morris, in his book, Righteous Victims, he writes, […] as you know, both the head of the Irgun and both the head of the Stern Gang—I’m talking about Begin and Shamir—became prime ministers of the state of Israel. And contrary to Netanyahu, public highways and streets are named after them.”
You’re not a racist, anti-Semite or self-hating Jew to disagree with what Israel is doing, just a person with a conscience, morals and compassion.
