NJ police chase ends with suspect’s car bursting into flames

ELIZABETH, N.J. (PIX11) -- A car chase that started at a New Jersey Target ended with the suspect's car bursting into flames.

Clark police were called to a Target on Central Avenue in on reports of someone using a stolen credit card. When authorities arrived, the suspect car fled in his car.

The man at one point crashed his car into a police car and tried to mow down an officer.

Police fired one shot, but no one was hit.

The suspect was finally apprehended on West Grand Street in Elizabeth and while being detained, his car burst into flames.

Authorities have yet to release the charges against the suspect.
