Former Los Angeles Lakers player Metta World Peace, formally known as Ron Artest, says he’s changing his name again as he gears up to play basketball in China.

World Peace, who signed a one-year, $1.43 million deal to play with the Sichuan Blue Whales, told his Twitter followers about the name change August 1.

The 34-year-old eccentric baller didn’t disappoint when he announced what his new moniker would be.

World Peace had to make the clarification after a Chinese newspaper reported his new name would be “Panda Friend.”

Quickly, fans began tweeting memes in celebration of his new name.

It is unclear if World Peace has actually legally changed his name yet.
