PENNSYLVANIA (PIX11) –A multi-state manhunt for a suspect who allegedly killed a woman in Philadelphia then kidnapped her children ended Thursday in Staten Island, where the boys were discovered safe and the suspect was found dead.

The lifeless body of Keith Belajonas, 32, was found in a car near Bartlett and Katan avenues about 8 a.m., police said.

Belajonas had been the subject of an Amber Alert first issued in Pennsylvania after he snatched two boys -- between ages 4 and 7 -- about 3 a.m. Thursday from a home on Abbey Terrace in Drexel Hill.

The children were found safe about 6 a.m. at a CVS in Staten Island, but Belajonas was not with them, authorities said.

Soon after, he was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound though it was not immediately known if it was self-inflicted.

Belajonas allegedly killed the boys' mother then kidnapped the children, taking off in a grey Nissan Pathfinder with Pennsylvania license plate JDH7477.

State police in Pennsylvania had issued as a warning that Belajonas was likely headed to New York.
