Police are searching for a suspect who shot a man several times in Bushwick on Friday, Aug. 1. (DCPI)

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (PIX11) — Police are searching for a suspect who they say shot a man several times while a young girl was nearby.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m., on Friday in the area of Moffat Street and Wilson Avenue.

Police say the suspect approached the 24-year-old victim, shooting him in the leg and back.

The shooter fired his gun near a 5-year-old girl who was riding her tricycle nearby.

The suspect is believed to be between 20 to 30-years-old and 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-8.

He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a Yankee hat.
