Arrest made in violent robbery of woman inside Brooklyn elevator

MIDWOOD (PIX11)-- Police have arrested one of the men involved in the vicious beating and robbery of a woman  inside a Brooklyn apartment building's elevator.

Tyler Hoppin, 18, faces charges of robbery, assault and criminal possession of stolen property, police say.

Two men followed an 18-year-old woman into an elevator at an apartment building in the Midwood section of Brooklyn. They pulled the victim out of the elevator, punched and kicked her and threw her to the ground as they snatched her purse.

One of those men is believed to be Hoppin, who was arrested Wednesday evening.
