5 arrested after man shot to death outside his apartment

MANHATTAN (PIX11) – Five men in their 20s have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 27-year-old in Manhattan, police said Thursday.

Daryl Washington was found lifeless shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday outside his apartment building in the 500 block of West 144th Street in the Hamilton Heights section of Manhattan, NYPD said.

With a gunshot wound to the head, Washington was pronounced dead at the scene.

Five arrests were made days later, with all of the suspects hailing from or near the same Manhattan neighborhood where Washington was gunned down.

Wayne Harris, 23, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder, weapons charges and gang assault.

The following four suspects were arrested on suspicion of gang assault:

Thaddaeus Burkett, 20; Travis Robinson, 23; John Arias, 23; and Dayvon Pinkney, 22.
