(PIX11) – Selfies shouldn’t be this dangerous.

A man participating at the running of the bulls at the Fêtes de Bayonne festival in France this year thought it would be a good idea to capture the event with a selfie.

The only problem was the man stood within feet of a loose bull as he struggled to find the right angle — likely trying to get the powerful animal into the frame.  Within seconds of holding his smartphone in air, the bull reversed and trampled the man. Youtube user Lexflex Freeman captured the incident in a 20-second video clip.

Fêtes de Bayonne is a five-day festival that was established in 1932. The summer event takes place every year in the southwest of France.
