NJ man accused of hanging family dog before setting house on fire

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (PIX11) -- A New Jersey man charged with setting his house on fire is facing new charges of animal cruelty.

Police say Janrv Bacolod, 29, faces third-degree animal cruelty charges for allegedly hanging the family dog before setting his house on fire.

According to NJ.com, police responded to a call of a domestic dispute at Bacolod's home in Mays Landing last week.

When police arrived, they found the house on fire.

Authorities later said that Bacolod hung the family dog before dousing the house with a flammable substance.

Bacolod is being held on a $100,000 bail.
