Delta flight to NYC diverted after smoky odor detected on board

MILWAUKEE (PIX11) -- A Delta flight to New York City was diverted after a smoky odor was detected on board.

A Delta spokesperson said the flight from Minneapolis landed safely in Milwaukee around 11 a.m. Saturday.

The 148 passengers were placed on another flight and made it to La Guardia later that afternoon.

Officials are still trying to determine the source of the odor.

    Was more than a smoky odor, on the flight we were told that there was a fire in the cockpit that destroyed some of the pilot’s panels.
