THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A Lexus was unrecognizable after a deadly single-car crash charred the car in the Bronx Thursday morning.

It happened shortly after 2 a.m. along Jerome Avenue between East 196 Street and Morris Avenue, police said.

An unidentified male driver was traveling north on Jerome Avenue when his 1999 Lexus struck an elevated train pillar.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
