NEW YORK (PIX11) – Waking up in a hospital bed came with an unexpected tinge of joy for several young patients at a New York City hospital Wednesday.

Window washers disguised as superheroes – Spider-Man and Captain America among them – scaled New York-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.

They peered into patients’ windows, smiling and waving in a wake-up call that surely won’t soon be forgotten.

Hospital staffed also donned their superhero attire to cheer on the surprise guests rising up the side of the hospital.
