LINDENHURST, N.Y. (AP) — A Long Island man is hospitalized in critical condition after police say the jet ski he was riding crashed into a boat.

Suffolk County police say Roldando Moreno hit the 23-foot pleasure boat around 5:30 p.m., Sunday on the Great South Bay near Lindenhurst.

They say the 45-year-old Huntington Station man was jumping a wake with his Yamaha WaveRunner when the crash happened.

Police say a boater took the injured Moreno back to shore and an ambulance brought him to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.

Police say no one else was injured.

They’re asking anyone with information on the crash to 631-854-8152.
