NEW YORK (PIX11) — Several hundred families camped out at Citi Field Saturday night in Queens for a chance to sleep on the field, and watch the game right where the Mets play.

“This is a great event that the Mets put on here, it’s great for the kids to come in and sleep on the field,” said John Barounis.

The $200 ticket included dinner, snacks, breakfast. and Mets’ goodies.

“I felt like a real player out there,” said George Barounis.

Families pitched tents, and played catch on the field. Fans also got a chance to meet former Met, Ed Kranepool, from the ’69 season.

It was a great night for fans. They slept on the field, ate hot dogs and had a good time under the stars.

The Mets were in California Thursday night where they were being hosted by the San Diego Padres.
