HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A decomposed head was found on Long Island near the area where two severed arms were found last week, according to sources.

The Hempstead Deputy Mayor Waylan Hobbs said he received a call from police about  a head in the vicinity of Boylston Street.

The grisly discover was made in Johnathan Grier's yard. "Somebody called me and said J'ohn your house is blocked off,'" said Grier.

Grier told PIX11 he has been smelling the decomposing head for days. He said he has been mowing his lawn, all the while the head was in his bushes.

Last week, arms were found strewn thrown on several front yards in the same neighborhood.

A torso of a woman was also found in Bay Shore in Suffolk County.

Police have been working to confirm if the remains found belong to missing Brooklyn mother Chinelle Brown.
