RYE, N.Y. (PIX11) – Children with special needs are celebrating summer at a camp just for them.

The beach at Rye Playland is the sandy home of the camp, which is supported by the Tommie Cares Foundation.

The kids enjoy a day of canoeing, stand-up paddling, kayaking and more. Plus all of Rye Playland’s rides are free to the campers.

This year’s event runs from 8 a.m. to noon Friday.

Parents who want to sign up their children for next year’s camp can click here to submit their application. Note: The spots fill up fast.

Volunteers can sign up here to help the camp run smoothly.
