PATERSON, N.J. (PIX11) — Over a thousand Paterson residents rallied on the steps of City Hall Tuesday evening after 12-year-old Genesis Rincon was murdered on Saturday.

"If you know something, say something," encouraged Reverend Della Fischer. Despite a $2,000 reward for information no arrests have been made in the case.

Genesis was shot by a stray bullet while playing on Rosa Parks Boulevard. She was removed from life support Monday evening and her donated organs helped save the lives of five other children.

Paterson Mayor Joey Torres is considering several anti-violence initiatives in the wake of the murder of Genesis. Mayor Torres said he recently applied for a grant to fund 15 new police officers in the city. "At the end of the month, I should put another 20 boots on the ground to help fight this epidemic."
