WEST NEW YORK, N.J. (AP) — Authorities are still trying to identify a woman whose body was found floating in the Hudson River this week.

Hudson County authorities say the body was found around 7 a.m. Friday and was removed from the water a short time later. But it’s still not clear how the body got into the water or how long it had been in the river.

Authorities say the circumstances of the death remain under investigation by the county medical examiner’s office. It was not clear Saturday when further information about the death would be made public.
