FLATLANDS, Brooklyn (PIX11) -- Authorities are looking for the driver of a stolen car who fled the scene after mowing down a woman and two children in Brooklyn Wednesday, killing one of the children.

The man driving a stolen 2005 Dodge Caravan rode onto the sidewalk near Flatlands Avenue and East 46th Street at about 5:20 p.m., striking two girls, 9 and 12-year-olds, and a 38-year-old woman.

The man then fled the scene on foot. Police say he was last seen on Schenectady Avenue.

Witnesses say the victims were trapped under the van when it flipped over and that several bystanders attempted to lift the vehicle off of them.

All three were taken to Kings County Hospital, where the 12-year-old, identified as Joey Sellers, was pronounced dead.

The two others remain in critical condition.

The suspect was described as Hispanic or Caucasian by police.
