EDISON, N.J. (PIX11) — Everyone knows, there’s a million reasons why you should play New Jersey’s State Lottery and now theres a million and one.

Meet Erica Young, the new face of New Jerseys State Lottery.

The 23-year-old Jersey girl was on hand with state lottery officials outside Veterans Memorial Home at Menlo Park, where the group unveiled the states largest lottery check — signifying the lottery’s contribution to education and institutions over the past 45 years.

For Young, taking on the coveted Job was personal.

For over two decades, her late mother Hela Young, was the beloved personality conducting the nightly lottery drawings in the Garden State.

After her passing in 2002 from breast cancer, the state’s lottery scrambled to fill the spot — until now.

You can catch Erica Young following in her mothers footsteps as New jerseys lottery hostess starting on July 1 on PIX11.
