CAMBRIA HEIGHTS, Queens (PIX11) — Monday night, thousands of people have already begun to arrive at the graveside the Grand Rebbe who died 20 years ago.

His spirit is still alive and as strong as ever.

The crowds formed early at old Montefiore Cemetery to pay their respects to Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.

The rabbi was one of the most influential religious figures of modern time and enjoyed an extraordinary legacy worldwide.

The organizers expected about 50,000 followers. That estimate has grown significantly and is expected to surpass 100,000 by Tuesday morning.
