NEW YORK (AP) – A 32-year-old Brooklyn man is dead after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver.

Police responded to the accident in the borough’s Marine Park section just before 3 a.m. Saturday.

They say Bryan Loughran was on the ground unconscious after he was hit while crossing the street.

He was pronounced dead at Beth Israel Hospital.

Police say the driver, 50-year-old Michael Casale, was arrested about two hours later at his home in Brooklyn’s Dyker Heights neighborhood.

Casale faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney.
