NEW YORK (PIX11) — A second Miss Delaware was crowned this month, after the first beauty queen was disqualified from her position for being too old.

WDEL-AM reports that Amanda Longacre, who will turn 25 in October, won the contest on June 14, but this week was dethroned. Her win qualified her for a hefty scholarship, which the pageant’s organizers told the radio station they could not comment on because of “pending litigation.”

Because Longacre’s age broke the rule that pageant contestants must be between 17 and 24 years old for the entire year that they are crowned, the 23-year-old first runner up Brittany Lewis is now the new Miss Delaware.
