EAST HARLEM (PIX11) — Members of the NYPD’s Crime Scene Unit suited up to continue the work that’s been taking place all day Thursday inside an apartment on East 126th Street in East Harlem.

A law enforcement source familiar with this investigation told PIX11 a home health aide discovered the body of her client, 59-year-old Milton Ortiz, at about 9 a.m.

Ortiz’s lifeless body was found sitting in a chair, his hands and feet bound.

Neighbors and people who work on the busy block said the victim would often be seen either sitting quietly in front of his building, or on the sidewalk.

Police are now trying to determine why someone wanted to do him harm.
