DAYTON, Ohio (PIX11) — A double amputee beat and sat on top of a man that broke into his Ohio home Saturday night.
Roy Davis, 34, was sitting on the porch of his Dayton home when he heard his wife Kenisha screaming.
“I started yelling, ‘Roy, Roy, there’s somebody in our house!’” Kenisha told WHIO. Kenisha said she originally thought it was a squirrel or raccoon.
Davis has prosthetic legs and wheeled himself inside and confronted the man, Joseph Copeland.
Davis bashed Copeland over the head with a glass liquor bottle and pinned him to the floor until police arrived.
Authorities suspect Copeland was intoxicated at the time and may need mental health treatment.
Davis has decided to install a security system after the incident, even if the landlord does not pay for it.
“I want to protect my own family,” Davis told the station.
