QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — An arrest has been made in the attempted rape of a 61-year-old woman who was walking in Queens when she was attacked.

Frangklin Lliguichuzhca, 21, of Queens, was taken into custody Wednesday, a day after police released a photo of the man wanted in the case.

Lliguichuzhca is accused of punching a 61-year-old woman in the face shortly before 11 p.m. on June 11 while she walked near 71st Street and 41st Avenue.

Police said the suspect knocked the victim to the ground and tried to rape her, but the woman fought back and her assailant ran away.

Lliguichuzhca faces charges of first-degree attempted rape, first- and second-degree sexual abuse, and assault, police said.

Officials initially described the assailant as a 17-year-old boy wearing a blue soccer jersey, dark jeans and sneakers at the time of the attack.
