GLENDALE, Queens (PIX11) — The search continued Tuesday for a man who escaped police custody following a drug bust in Queens.

Bryan McMenamin was arrested Monday night in the Glendale section of Queens.

But the 38-year-old did not remain in custody for long.

Somehow, a handcuffed McMenamim slipped away from officers and commandeered an unmarked police car.

When an undercover agent tried to stop him from fleeing, the suspect ran over the plainclothes officer, who suffered a leg injury.

Investigators said they’re still unsure how McMenamin was able to take control of the car, which was discovered soon after, abandoned in the parking lot of a post office in Ridgewood.

The suspect was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.

Anyone with information in the case is urged to call NYPD’s anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
