Katy Perry’s “Make Roar Happen” intiative to raise money for education

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Katy Perry has kicked off the North American leg of her tour by paying it forward.

The singer announced Thursday that she and the Staples Center are teaming up and donating $1-million in support of education.

The project is called “Make Roar Happen” and supports teachers, parents, and students throughout the country.

Perry also encouraged fans to join the initiative at DonorsChoose.org where they can donate money to the cause.
