Man wanted in elevator attack on 53-year-old woman

ASTORIA, Queens (PIX11) — A 27-year-old man is wanted for allegedly following a woman nearly twice his age into her apartment building then violently and sexually assaulting her, police said.

Elvis McKenzie is wanted in connection with the attack, NYPD said Friday, releasing a photo of the suspect.

He is suspected of trailing a 53-year-old woman into her apartment in the Astoria section of Queens about 11:30 a.m. Monday, police said.

Once inside the elevator, the suspect punched and choked the victim then tried to sexually assault her, investigators said.

The attacker ran from the scene and the victim was taken to a hospital, treated and released.

McKenzie is described as 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds.
