Sunny morning will give way to late day showers and thunderstorms

(PIX11 WEATHER CENTER) — The string of beautiful weather will come to an end Tuesday afternoon as a cold front moves toward the Tri-State Area from the west.

Skies will be sunny in the morning followed by late day showers and thunderstorms.  High temperatures will be 83 in the city, mid 80s for the suburbs.

Tuesday night will be cloudy and muggy with scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Low temperature will be 65 in the city, upper 50s to low 60s for the suburbs

Expect partly sunny and slightly cooler conditions on Wednesday with high temperatures near 80 degrees in the city.

An area of low pressure will move through the region on Thursday bringing thunderstorms and rain which could be heavy at times especially during the early morning hours.  Temperatures will be cooler due to the cloud cover and precipitation.  High temperatures will be in the mid-70s

Friday will see a gradual return to sunshine with warmer temperatures and drier air.  Highs will be climb back into the low 80s for much of the area.

The weekend will feature high pressure and sunny skies with pleasant weather lasting through the period.  Highs will be in the low to mid 80s.
