SYRACUSE, Utah (FOX13) — A 14-year-old boy took his grandfather’s car on a joyride, leading police on a high-speed chase that imperiled children in a park and only ended when the driver of a pickup truck used his vehicle as a ram rod to bring the teen’s runaway ride to a stop, Fox 13 reported.
The car driven by the teen had torn through a park earlier, not far from where children were playing. The surreal scene was all caught on video.
“The person driving the truck could see it was turning back into the park, and he did not want the car to hit all of the children, or any of the children, and he actually pulled his truck in the way so the car collided with the truck,” said Officer Erin Behm of the Syracuse Police Department of the actions of Bryson Rowley, whose own kids were playing in the park.
Neither driver was injured.
