JACKSON, Tenn. (PIX11) – A newlywed mother has received a considerable amount of flak for the “something new” she took with her down the aisle.

Shona Carter-Brooks, who lives in Jackson, Tenn., tied her 1-month-old daughter to the train of her wedding dress and essentially dragged the infant down the aisle of a church.

The unwanted attention has made Carter-Brooks and her baby daughter the center of several news stories, a media overload that has the new mom and wife defiant on Facebook, the same place where the photos were first found.

“The answer is we do what we want when we want long as Jesus on our side everything worked out fine and gone continue to be fine. Our 1 month old was awake and well secured on my train. Most important while yall got ya feelings in us we had our hearts in Christ which covers all!! So keep ya mouths running for it was just that Exclusive and Epic enough we made top blog way from small town Ripley, TN and the social media doing what they do, TALK!!!!” she wrote on her page.

One can only wonder if the bride has any real common sense (or real concern for the child's well being) and how or why she came to determine that one month old babies are somehow able to fend for themselves off the back of a bride's moving gown never mind the fact that the bride had no qualms about using her child as if they were an accessory piece for the sake of a 'memorable photo opportunity….?'

My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My neighbour’s sister has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can’t believe how easy it was once I tried it out..,,,,,

Always using the name Jesus to cover for your sins. Jesus didn’t die on the cross to give you forgiveness on your bullshit. Please stop using the lords name in vain. You know you Did some uncaring actions as a mother. If this was done in NYC. You would of definitely been under investigation for endangering the welfare of a infant. All you cared about was five minutes of fame in cost of your newborn child. May God have Mercy on you.

It is appalling that the participants in the wedding party and the audience didn’t seem to have a reaction. Clearly that child was in danger. Also, what sane person commerates the love of a family and their child by having they infant dragged behind them like a can on a “just got married” limo? That’s the best way she came up with to show how valuable her child is? Don’t have god co-sign on that non-sense.
