BROOKLYN (PIX11) – A 14-year-old was struck and killed in Brooklyn Monday morning, authorities said.

The victim, identified as Nicholas Soto, was crossing Hicks Street near Lorraine Street when the driver of a 2004 BMQ hit him, police said. The driver stayed at the scene.

Soto lives near the intersection where he was killed, police said.

That intersection has been the scene of at least three pedestrian crashes, none of them fatal, since 1995, according to CrashStat. Three bicyclists have been hurt in that intersection since 1995, the year that CrashStat starts recording crashes.
