(PIX11) – Polo players are galloping into New York City this weekend, and all for a good cause.

On Saturday, players astride on horses will gallop up to 40 mph down the field at Liberty State Park, playing a game akin to ice hockey but on equines.

An athlete in the tournament – who also has been the face of Ralph Lauren Polo for some 14 years, Nacho Figueras visited PIX11 News Friday to break down the rules of the game.

Proceeds from the seventh Veuve Clicquot Polo Classice will benefit City Harvest, which collects excess food restaurants and grocers and delivers them to food banks around the city.
