Looking for a four-legged member to add to your family?

This weekend, New Yorkers will have the chance to adopt more than 4,000 dogs and cats — young and old, large and small, mixed- and pure-breed, frisky and couch potatoes — the city’s biggest free adoption event ever.

Maddie’s® Pet Adoption Days will take place Saturday and Sunday, and remains totally free thanks to money from Maddie’s Fund, a California-based group that aims to empty shelters and put pets in loving homes.

While animals will be up for adoption in all five boroughs, a single “mega-event” will happen Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. outside the Petco Union Square, located between 17th and 19th streets.

All of the adoptable creatures are homeless, living in animal shelters or with rescue groups. They’ve all been spayed, neutered, micro-chipped and vaccinated.

See photos, below, of the dogs and cats among the adorable pets up for adoption.

roxy

Roxy, a 2-year-old Domestic Shorthair-and-Tabby mix, was found in a wooded area of Corona, Queens. She is a happy, laid back cat who can’t wait to lavish affection on someone who’ll reciprocate.

Roscoe

Roscoe, a 5-year-old Beagle mix, is full of energy and curiosity. He loves the outdoors (although he’s less fond of cats!). He gets along beautifully with children and would make the perfect addition to any family.

Holly

Holly, an American Bulldog mix, was rescued after being hit by a car. Charming and friendly, she is ready to put the injury behind her and find a family to call her own.

Bilbo

Bilbo, a 2 1/2-year-old Cocker Spaniel mix, is looking for someone to love. He loves to cuddle and “hang loose,” and is the perfect companion for a single person or a family without children.
