NEW YORK (PIX11) — A 73 year-old woman was walking along a Queens sidewalk when an robber approached her from behind and snatched the victim’s purse then another attacker punched her in the face, police said.
The attack happened about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday near 153 Avenue and 88 Street, police said Thursday, releasing images of two assailants wanted in the robbery.
The 73-year-old victim was walking with a cart of groceries when a robber approached her and plucked her purse — containing about $100 and a cellphone — from the cart, police said. Then another attacker punched the woman in the face, knocking her to the ground, police said.
The victim suffered cut to her ear and abrasions to her arm. She was taken to a hospital and her injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
One attacker is described as a black female with a thin build who was last seen wearing a vest. The other is described as a black male with a thin build last seen wearing dark clothing and tan cargo shorts.
Both are believed to be about 18 years old, police said.
