Changes have been made to one of the bus routes along 125th Street in Harlem.

The M60 is the newest route to be designated as a “Select Bus Route.”

NYC Transportation Commissioner Polly Trottenberg says, “Thanks to sped-up bus service in the heart of Harlem, riders will see much-improved crosstown travel times, better inter-borough connections between 125th Street and other major job centers in Manhattan and Queens, and quicker trips to LaGuardia Airport.”

The city and MTA estimate that travel times will decrease by 20 percent along the route.

A bus lane was installed along a section of the route in Harlem east of Lenox Avenue. Some neighbors have objected to the location of the bus stops.

This is the city’s 7th select bus route. Others are being considered along Woodhaven Boulevard in Queens and also in Jamaica and Flushing.
