Long Island high school bans lockers and backpacks

WANTAGH, Long Island (PIX11) — A Long Island high school is making drastic changes to keep their students safe.

Wantagh High School is not allowing students to use lockers and has also banned backpacks.

The school has had several threats called in for the year.

Three threats have been called into the school throughout the year. One took place just last week.

As a response, all students must carry their books in a clear bag.

Every student was forced to clean out his or her locker. All of them will remain sealed for the rest of the year.
