NEW YORK CITY (AP/PIX11) — Actor Alec Baldwin was taken to a police stationhouse Tuesday morning after allegedly riding his bike on the wrong side of the street and acting belligerently toward officers, police said.

Baldwin was taken into custody about 10:15 a.m., police said. Two officers noticed him riding his bicycle the wrong way at 16th Street and Fifth Avenue near Union Square Park.

Police said the 56-year-old 30 Rock actor acted belligerently toward the officers when asked for identification and was arrested. He’s since been released. He was issued a summons for riding a bike the wrong way and for disorderly conduct.

Baldwin took to Twitter Tuesday afternoon, calling out the officer who arrested him for “going the wrong way on Fifth Ave.”

“Meanwhile, photographers outside my home ONCE AGAIN terrified my daughter and nearly hit her with a camera. The police did nothing,” he tweeted.

“New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign,” he added.
