BROOKLYN (PIX11) — A child was rescued after becoming stuck in a roll down gate in Brooklyn Thursday evening.

The seven-year-old boy was suspended several feet in the air, with his arm, chest and head caught in the gate on Skillman Avenue in Williamsburg.

The boy was freed after about 15 minutes.

The boy was so high off the ground, firefighters had to stand on top of an SUV in order to rescue him just after 6 p.m. Thursday.

The boy was freed and was transferred to Bellevue by Hatzalah.

It is unclear how the boy became entangled in the gate, as residents on the block remained tight lipped.

The boy is expected to be OK.
