PORT WASHINGTON, New York (PIX11) – A mudslide in Port Washington buried two cars and a law firm parking lot on Harbor Park Drive after intense rains pounded the tri-state area Wednesday.

“This was an accident waiting to happen,” lawyer Brett Zekowsky said. He said they have been worried about the hill behind their office building for awhile. Zekowsky blamed it on a poor drainage system.

Car swallowed

Two cars were buried under a mudslide caused by the heavy rain.

Over in Sea Cliff there was another mudslide. A multi-family home lost its backyard and porch when it tumbled into the water below.

“We are so lucky there was no loss of life,” Sea Cliff Mayor Bruce Kennedy said.
