Train nearly hits senator during commuter safety presser

MILFORD, CT (PIX11) – During a press conference on commuter safety, Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal was nearly struck from behind by a train.

The scary moment happened Friday at the Milford Metro-North station as the Milford Mayor Ben Blake spoke.

The press conference was held to discuss Metro-North’s safety record and the reforms put in place after a deadly derailment in December of 2013.

Senator Blumenthal ignored the yellow strip that warns commuters to stay clear of the tracks, and, while fixing an easel, just dodged a train rushing into the station.  WATCH IT:
