BROOKLYN (PIX11) — The 13-year-old Brooklyn teen shot in the head Monday in East Flatbush continues to recover at Kings County Hospital.

Gama Droiville spoke to PIX11 by phone Friday afternoon about the scary scene earlier this week.

Gama said he’s thankful for the police officers that got the suspect off the streets.

“Everyone was crying but I told everyone to relax, because God was with me,” Gama said.

Gama was shot in the head after a gunman opened fire on a busy street. “The doctor says the eye is healing,” Gama says. “But I just can’t see anything out of it yet so were waiting.”

Kareem Potomont, 21, has been charged with two counts of attempted second degree murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, among other charges.
