Employees tied up, shots fired at cops after robbery at NJ auto shop

ELIZABETH, N.J. (PIX11) — Several people are injured after an armed robbery at a car business that ended with a shootout with police in New Jersey.

Authorities say employees of what appears to be an auto body shop were tied up by at least five armed gunman, who were using handheld radios to communicate.


Three of the suspects allegedly jumped out of a U-Haul truck.

Police say three of the suspects fled from a U-Haul truck and the other two out of a carjacked F-150.

Reports indicate that $250,000 worth of property was taken from the business.

At least three people are the scene are injured.

Police are still searching for at least one suspect.
