City’s new speed cameras have already ticketed 900 drivers

Lawmakers are looking to add more speed cameras around NYC and Long Island. (WPIX)

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Lawmakers are pushing to add more speed cameras in school zones around NYC and Long Island.

If the law is passed, more than 120 cameras would be added in NYC and 125 on Long Island.

The project will expire after four years if not renewed.

The speed cameras will only be operation on school days.

Tickets will cost drivers $50.
